How Fly and Ride Affect Values

Four potion choices

None, Ride, Fly, and Fly Ride each map to a separate value field. A Normal Fly Ride pet and a Neon Fly Ride pet are different records in the comparison, even though the potion label is the same. Do not assume a fixed premium

In a reviewed dataset, an unpotioned collectible could be valued differently from an otherwise similar potion pet. A potion’s acquisition cost does not automatically translate to a fixed trading premium. Each pet page, such as Frost Dragon or Shadow Dragon, lists all twelve Adopt Me trading values for that pet.

Our illustrative assumptions

The initial dataset adds 0.2 points for Ride, 0.3 for Fly, and 0.45 for Fly Ride to each growth variant’s base. These small fixed adjustments are demonstration settings, not market advice. Reviewed movements in Adopt Me trading values will appear on the Rising and Falling page once the dataset has evidence to show.

What Fly and Ride actually are

Fly and Ride potions are permanent upgrades applied to a pet. A Ride pet can be ridden, a Fly pet can fly, and a Fly Ride pet can do both. The potions do not change the pet’s growth variant, so a Normal, Neon or Mega can each be found in all four potion states. How the labels appear

When you add a pet to an offer you choose the growth variant first and the potion status second. The offer card then shows both, for example "Normal · Ride" or "Mega · Fly Ride". Chat shorthand such as "F", "R" and "FR" maps to Fly, Ride and Fly Ride. "NFR" means Neon Fly Ride and "MFR" means Mega Fly Ride. Why the premium is not fixed

Potions cost the same to apply to any pet, but the extra value they add in trading is not the same for every pet. For a very valuable pet the potion is a small fraction of the total. For a cheap pet the potion can be most of its value. Some traders also prefer unpotioned versions of collectible pets, so a potion can matter less than you expect on certain items.

Reading a pet page

Each pet page shows a table with growth variants as rows and potion states as columns. Reading across a row shows how potions change the estimate for that variant. Potion mistakes to avoid

• Assuming "FR" from chat. Verify the potion in the window; a plain pet is a common last-second swap.
• Adding the potion to the wrong variant. Neon Fly Ride and Normal Fly Ride are different records with very different totals.
• Comparing potioned and unpotioned pets as if equal. Enter the exact status on both sides.
• Treating the potion premium as constant. It varies by pet and by who is trading.

Why potions get their own values

It would be simpler to store one value per pet and add a fixed amount for each potion. This site does not do that, because a fixed amount would be wrong for most pets most of the time. A potion on a rare legendary barely changes what traders offer; a potion on a common pet can double it. Storing each of the four potion states separately lets a reviewed dataset reflect the real pattern for each pet. The illustrative dataset uses small fixed additions only so that all twelve versions exist and can be compared.

Potions and the trade window

In the trade window, a potioned pet shows its Fly and Ride status on the item, and the pet name does not change. That is exactly why potion swaps are so common: a Fly Ride pet and a plain pet look almost identical at a glance. Before you accept, open each pet in the window if you can and read the labels. If you agreed to "FR" in chat, the window must show both Fly and Ride, not one of them.

Potions on eggs and items

Only pets can carry potions. Eggs, vehicles, toys and pet wear have a single value and no potion or growth controls in the calculator. If an offer includes an egg, it is added at its one value, and the Neon and Mega columns on the values list show a dash for it. A pet hatched from an egg can then be potioned like any other pet, but the egg itself cannot.

Deciding whether to potion a pet

Potions are permanent, so applying one is a trading decision as much as a gameplay one. If you plan to keep the pet, potion it for the abilities you want and enjoy them. If you plan to trade it soon, check the pet page first: compare the unpotioned estimate with the Fly Ride estimate and think about whether traders in that tier actually pay for potions. For some collectible pets the plain version is the one people ask for, and a potion can narrow your buyers rather than widen them.
